The inspiration behind this piece is both diversity and realness. I often come across people who try to fit me into a box. I
also often try to fit myself into a box. Society says to be “normal” I should dress a certain way, drive a certain car, or
have a certain belief system. even among my community, i feel pressure to fit into roles that I honestly don’t always fall
into. It’s hard to go against the norm and embrace my own individuality. I have to remind myself often that it is okay to be
different and that in our differences we will find similarity. Underneath the façade of “normalcy” we are all unique,
beautiful people.
