for a sheep to be born white, it must possess the dominant gene that switches color production off. black sheep are a minority and are seen as less desirable because black wool cannot be dyed for commercial production. at one time the english thought the black sheep was a sign of the devil. it is sad to me that societies are so hell bent on there being a "norm" that we place negative labels on anything or anyone that falls outside the parameters of normalcy. |
